BESCOM new connection: documents and application checklist
For a new electricity connection, prepare the property details and required load before applying. BESCOM has a fast-track route for eligible premises and a general application route for other connection types.

New connection or an existing-account service?
If a working connection already serves the property, first establish whether you need an ownership change or additional sanctioned load. Keep the existing account details when discussing the case with BESCOM. For a genuinely new supply point, identify the intended use, connection type and location.
Documents to prepare
The public new-connection form lists identity proof other than an Aadhaar-card upload, ownership evidence and a geo-tagged building photo. It also lists a completion/test report with wiring diagram. Check the chosen form’s required categories before uploading.
- An accepted identity document, such as PAN, driving licence, passport or voter ID; do not upload an Aadhaar card in the identity-proof upload field.
- Relevant property evidence, such as sale deed, khata certificate or tax-paid certificate, as accepted by the form.
- A full building photograph with location coordinates.
- Completion/test report and wiring diagram when required for the application.
- Applicant contact details, supply address, building measurements and requested load/phase.
Check the fast-track conditions
Read BESCOM’s eligibility page before selecting fast track. Network changes, building requirements and unfinished wiring can affect eligibility. The homepage and eligibility page describe load thresholds differently; confirm the route for your requested load with BESCOM instead of assuming that any small connection qualifies.
Submit, pay and track
Complete the official form, check that the supply address is correct and save the application reference. Use the demand letter to review charges before payment. Keep the receipt and application together so that a follow-up can identify both the request and payment.
How long will a new connection take?
Do not treat a fast-track headline as a deadline for every property. Ask which stage is pending, whether the application is complete and whether network work is needed. A calculator estimate or payment receipt alone does not confirm that supply has been energised.
