Official legal policies, statutory disclaimers, crowdsourced truth standards, and conditions of use for PowerCutStatus India (https://powercutstatus.in).

IMPORTANT STATUTORY & EMERGENCY WARNINGThis website is an independent community utility monitoring initiative. It is not affiliated with the Government of India or any state electricity distribution company (DISCOM). Do not use this website for critical medical or industrial safety decisions. For life-threatening electrical hazards, broken wires, or hospital emergencies, dial the official 24x7 all-India DISCOM helpline 1912 immediately.

1. Non-Government & Independent Platform Disclaimer

PowerCutStatus India, accessible at https://powercutstatus.in, is an independently developed and managed public utility tracking tool.

We are NOT an official agency of, affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, or in any way connected to:

  • The Ministry of Power, Government of India, or any Central Electricity Authority (CEA) body;
  • State Electricity Regulatory Commissions (SERCs) or State Governments;
  • Any state-owned or private Distribution Company (DISCOM), including but not limited to Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), CESC Kolkata, Tata Power, BSES Rajdhani / Yamuna, MSEDCL (Mahavitaran), BESCOM, TANGEDCO, Adani Electricity, PSPCL, UPPCL, or WBSEDCL.

Any official DISCOM marks, logos, abbreviations, circular titles, or service codes displayed on this platform are used purely under the doctrine of nominative fair use (Section 30 of the Trade Marks Act, 1999) to accurately identify regional geographic electricity supply areas for consumer reference.

2. Real-Time Outage Data & Truth-First Architecture Disclaimer

Power status determinations on powercutstatus.in are computed dynamically using a combination of:

  1. Automated public utility maintenance and shutdown schedules published by respective DISCOMs;
  2. Independent crowd-sourced electricity cut and restoration reports verified via rate-limiting and geographic clustering algorithms;
  3. Periodic ping telemetry from connected network hardware within registered localities.

No Warranty of Absolute Accuracy: Grid electricity distribution involves spontaneous feeder trips, transformer breakdowns, localized single-phase faults, fuse-blows, and manual load-shedding that may occur without advance electronic notification. While we enforce strict non-negotiable truth rules (never faking green availability without recent corroboration), all status indicators, downtime durations, and restoration estimates are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind.

3. Critical Safety, Medical & Life-Support Equipment Warning

This platform is strictly an informational tool for domestic, commercial, and educational planning.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should information from this website be used to schedule, operate, or make risk determinations regarding:

  • Medical life-support equipment, oxygen concentrators, hospital ICU backups, ventilators, or dialysis apparatus;
  • Industrial high-voltage safety interlocks, hazardous chemical ventilation, or elevator/lift mechanics;
  • Critical security, fire alarms, or life-safety machinery.

Facilities requiring uninterruptible electrical continuity must maintain certified automated diesel generator sets (AMF panels) and battery inverter backups according to National Building Code (NBC) guidelines.

4. Power Tools & Engineering Calculators Disclaimer (IS:732 / BEE)

The 12 electrical calculators available under the Power Tools Hub (including Inverter Sizing, Battery Backup, Solar PV Estimator, Generator Sizing, Cable Cross-Section, Sanctioned Load Verification, and Bill Estimators) are calculated based on standard engineering formulations, Indian Standard IS:732 (Code of Practice for Electrical Wiring Installations), IS:694, and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) star-rating parameters.

  • Calculations assume nominal 230V single-phase / 415V three-phase 50Hz AC Indian grid conditions;
  • Calculators are designed for estimation and preliminary purchasing guidance only;
  • Actual cable sizing, conduit installation, earthing (IS:3043), MCB/RCCB sizing, and load enhancement petitions must be inspected and executed by a Certified Electrical Wireman / Licensed Electrical Contractor recognized by the State Electrical Inspectorate.
Compliant with Indian IT Act 2000, BEE standards, and nominative fair use.
