Talk to your community during a power cut

Use this India community chat to ask whether neighbours have electricity, share a local observation or keep each other company while waiting. Mention your city and general locality, such as Faridabad, Bengaluru or Hyderabad, so others understand where you mean. This is one shared room, not a separate chat for each city.

For outage evidence, check your area’s power cut status. Messages here are personal observations, not verified utility notices or restoration estimates. If no one replies, that does not tell you whether electricity is available nearby.

How do I join without logging in?

Read the rules and select “Agree & join chat”. You receive a random nickname and animal avatar. You can choose a friendly nickname of up to eight characters. Hindi, English and regional languages are welcome; keep messages respectful.

Can I register an electricity complaint in this chat?

No. A chat message does not reach your electricity provider. Open the electricity complaint number directory, choose your provider and use its official complaint channel. Keep the complaint reference for follow-up. Do not post account numbers, phone numbers or your full address here.

Are messages saved, and how is spam handled?

The room displays up to 50 recent messages in temporary memory, expiring within 30 minutes; it has no permanent chat archive. Messages are limited to 100 characters, with a 15-second wait between sends. Detected abuse, contact details and links are rejected. You can mute or report a message; automated moderation can miss things, so never share private information.

This chat is not an emergency service. For a dangerous electrical fault, stay away from the equipment and contact your electricity provider through its official emergency channel. Read our privacy policy and report a concern if needed.

Chat rules & privacy

  • Keep it kind

No abuse, hate, threats, impersonation or ads. Detected abuse is rejected before posting. Filters can miss novel spellings; report or mute a user if needed.

  • Protect your personal details

No phone numbers, links, handles, payment requests or private details. No private messages or uploads.

  • Give everyone a little room

100 characters per message. Wait 15 seconds before sending again. Extra limits apply on shared networks.

  • A conversation, not an archive

Only the latest 50 messages are available, for up to 30 minutes. They are held in server memory, with no permanent chat archive. Restarts can clear them sooner. Others can take screenshots.

  • You’re in control

Mute hides an identity for you until this page is reloaded. Reporting also mutes that identity; three separate network reports remove a message from the room. This is not a staffed emergency service.

No chat content is saved to your browser storage. Temporary session and network limits help reduce abuse. Hosting providers may process ordinary connection metadata. Privacy policy
